What we do
True North Trailworks is a specialty trail building company with the hands-on capacity to take projects from the ground up. We build multi-use trails, FSTAG-informed accessible routes, purpose-built singletrack, and technical mountain bike lines—constructed to last through hard seasons and heavy use. Our crews build durable trailhead facilities and deliver the kind of craftsmanship in the field that separates a truly great trail from an average one. For larger, comprehensive design and planning work, we draw on a trusted network of experienced partners and resources to ensure every phase of a project is handled with the same level of expertise we bring to construction. We also offer planning, layout, and consulting to support projects from start to finish, but at our core we are builders—and that shows in every mile we put on the ground. This work is fueled by a genuine passion for riding, walking, and time outside, and we bring that energy to every project we take on.

Emergency Response Planning
Safe trails start with a plan. True North Trailworks brings real-world emergency response experience to every project, helping land managers and trail organizations develop practical, field-ready emergency action plans tailored to their specific network. Drawing on backgrounds in paramedicine, wildland fire, technical rope rescue, and incident command, we assess access points, egress routes, communication dead zones, and evacuation corridors to ensure responders can reach any point on the system quickly and efficiently. We work with local EMS, fire, and search and rescue agencies to align plans with existing regional response frameworks, and we build emergency access and signage considerations directly into trail design and construction from the start. The result is a trail network that is not only fun and sustainable but prepared for the unexpected.
